15th International and National Seminar of Fisheries and Marine Science

Background

The 15th International and National Seminar of Fisheries and Marine Science (ISFM) is an annual event hosted by the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science at Universitas Riau. The Seminar is conducted in conjunction with the mission of the faculty in promoting the academic atmosphere and contributing its excellence to the community. The Seminar for this year covers the topics related to the main issues in Marine Health and Aquatic Systems Sustainability in parallel with the national and international development in the area of marine science and fisheries. The topics are the main fundamentals for achieving the current national and international development on Food Security and National Prosperity.

Objective and Expected Outcomes

The objective of the Seminar is to provide information and facilitate open discussion among all participants on the challenges and issues, particularly in the fields of fisheries, marine, and environmental sciences. The next objective is to disseminate the most recent findings from the research and policymaking in the area of fisheries and marine science, both at the national and global levels. The last objective is expected to strengthen and or to create networking and collaborating activities among the participants.

Participants

The event would be open to the lecturers, researchers, scholars, policymakers, entrepreneurs, and other interested parties in the field. This year seminar apart from those of Indonesian participants, a number of attendees are coming from the countries in Southeast Asia, i.e. Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, and Malaysia, Japan and Germany. It is expected that approximately 200 individuals will be joining the seminar.
